Hunter Tylo Bio: Prologue

Since 1990 I have been a big fan of Hunter Tylo. Her exquisite beauty, like nothing I have ever seen, first mesmerized me, and then I began to notice her adeptness, in entertaining, as an actress. For the years since 1990 I followed her career and the roller coaster ride that has been her personal life. I still to this day (in July 1999) have never met Hunter Tylo. Despite this, I have experienced the many emotions that have come with being a fan of this lady.

There have been many moments, during her appearances on television, as herself or the character she was portraying, when I have been totally mesmerized by her stunning beauty. She put a smile on my face during these moments, and made me totally comfortable with life, and glad to have been born of the male gender. There have also been times when her personal life has seen her in court and I have been ecstatic when she has won. Conversely, there have been times when I went online to find news of her daughter's medical condition, which horrified me and shocked me to the core, which is a rare experience for me, a self-confessed slightly cold hearted man.

The tears of happiness and of sadness have all been a part of the experience of knowing this lady, to a reasonable degree, despite not having met her or knowing her personally as some kind of friend. Throughout all the good and bad times Hunter has experienced in her life, she has inadvertently become, by being a public figure, a source of inspiration to her fans. Mostly, this is for the way she has managed to get through these experiences in her life but it is also because of the inspiring personal qualities she possesses, in addition to her intelligence, talent, and stunning beauty.

In late 1998, I decided that I wanted to take my "love" for this lady to a new level by telling the world about her, via the Net. I sat on the idea for six months and one day in May 1999 I just went for it. I started to produce a Web site that would be different from most others pertaining to Hunter Tylo. There are few Web sites solely about this beautiful lady on the Net today (as of July 1999). Most contain the usual photo galleries, news pages, some biographical details, and what are termed "spoilers" for the character she currently portrays on the daytime television soap opera called "The Bold and the Beautiful" (B&B).

I designed a few pages to start with and uploaded it to a free server in the States (I had run out of space on my own with other sites). I called it HunterNet (Hunter Tylo on the Net). Back then it was just somewhere I could store a few photos and hyperlinks, to other sites where information about, and photos of, Hunter and B&B could be found. I also placed my poem there (that members of her official fan club had seen in 1998) and some writing to introduce the site and my interest in Hunter. I soon received some positive feedback from people across the world. To me though it just wasn't quite enough.

HunterNet was pretty much the same as other Web sites at the time. It had the photos and news and hyperlinks and just a bit of writing, that was slightly different, from what you would find on other Web sites about Hunter. In February of 1999, I had already thought of the potential of some sort of biography that could be included on a possible Web site about Hunter, that I would design, and as stated above finally did in May. This biography would have to be different and would have to be a way of using the Web to tell the world, not just what this lady means to me but what a source of inspiration she can be to everyone, even those who do not know her.

I had read earlier in 1999 that Hunter was writing her own autobiographical account of her life and I knew that I would have to write, what would just be a small Web presentation, from a different perspective, to make my account of her life different in some way. Of course there would be the similarities in facts about different times in her life, in my account and hers, but I did not particularly desire criticism, from the readers of her book, that my account was just copied from her book. Thus I knew that, firstly, it would have to be from a different perspective, and secondly, I would have to research, write, and publish my account first (to avoid any of the aforementioned criticism). This Web presentation is not going to compare much to her book but people do criticize. Thus my chosen perspective is that of a fan's account of her life through the inspiration she provides us all with today, as much as she did yesterday.

I have picked up a lot of information over the years, about Hunter, and subsequently knew what was more correct than others, especially out of what you can find on other Web sites, where some information is incorrect. I decided that my account of her life would be a Web presentation, totally based on what I knew and the public information I had collected over the years. I do not by any means consider myself an authority on this lady, but I wanted to publish, in what would become the centerpiece of HunterNet, information that could be considered to be of a higher standard of accuracy (not gleaned from the Net or less reliable sources). I make no guarantees, though, that there are no pieces of information that are not totally correct - it is only public information that I have used here, after all.

So, with all this in mind it is my hope that you enjoy this presentation as much as I have enjoyed researching and writing it. Let it be a prelude to Hunter's book, which I'm sure, will be far more fascinating than my presentation here.

God bless!
