Hunter Tylo Biography
One of Hunter's last posts on the fan club forum, or anywhere else for that matter, was a plug for her Bold but brief episodes on her old show and at this time her Hallmark movie was due out. With the exception of a post in her forum in each month of March, April and July 2004 Hunter has not communicated publicly with her fans since. It was at this point that her acting career had seemingly come to an end. Her character on Bold was seen in March as a ghost in a vision that the character "Ridge" had as the photo below shows. Something that her critics had picked up on in the 'Life and Leisure' role, and these Bold episodes, was a change in the size of her lips. It was something of a hot topic at the time but fans were in for a real shock just twelve months later and we will get to that in the 2005 section.
'A Place Called Home' (previously 'Till The River Runs Dry') was released (see Hunter on set below) and was given the thumbs down by critics in early March. Although the movie was not welcomed by critics Hunter seemed to have done well with the character she portrayed. However, one review about the movie, which came from Marilyn Moss for example, said, in a Reuters News movie review for 'Hollywood Reporter', that:
"There is hardly an event that happens in "A Place Called Home" that is original. Characters hardly change and the drama remains largely stifled or pushed to the borders of the story. For those who enjoy watching Ann-Margret on the small screen (and many do), the pic has its rewards. Otherwise there is little to recommend it."
Ouch! There were very few positive reviews around but Hunter put it behind her to take off to Bulgaria for a movie role. She spent about six weeks there and returned home by the end of April. The movie was called 'Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy' and, in the fan club newsletter, I had a little bit to say about that which caused a storm of protest in July (more in part three). Just before Mother's Day though, Hunter, happy to be home, stunned the world by turning up to a luncheon with her hair hacked off. It was absolutely shocking and the photo below was released for the public to see. The idea behind this haircut was to look less like a soap star. Ironically, at the time and even in early 2006 when this biography was published, two popular soap stars, Julie Pinson and Lisa Rinna have the same hairstyle.
For the next few months Hunter was busy promoting various products and acting work. After that "shocking" Savannah Now luncheon which was to remember mothers, Hunter was involved in promoting 'Exercise Your Eyes' and her movie 'They Are Among Us' was all set to screen on July 17th through to July 22nd on the Sci-Fi channel. There was also some news that Hunter won a hosting role on a reality television show. The concept had good intentions but would not have appealed to a secular audience one bit. It was actually aimed at FamilyNet, The Travel Channel, The Total Living Network, Good Life TV, and PBS. It was called 'An American Wedding' and it promoted the virtues of marriage. Hunter hosted the show and the lucky couple came from a competition on a Christian singles website.
So that was the first half of 2004 which seems like it was a busy enough year but the rest of the year was fairly quiet. This was not however, before I opened my big, fat mouth again in the last half of the year and we will get to that in part three. There was one last photo of Hunter with long hair (below) that surfaced during late 2003 that I had not previously seen until early 2004 and it showed a sexy side to Hunter. It was one of the last times that fans have seen her with long hair. It was a bit of a shock that she would pose in such a photo but that is one of many reasons why she is beautiful – she is unpredictable sometimes which is cool.
That unpredictability resurfaced again in early 2005 when Hunter insulted forum fans in a magazine article, which was not very cool of her at all. She previously stated in her forum in May 2003 that she would never do an interview with this particular magazine after a reporter, whose previous job was in selling advertising space on a porn site, made fun of her in a 'She Spies' article. It is amazing what a difference a few years makes but Hunter's lips were really the biggest topic of discussion throughout 2005. These topics will be covered in the 2005 section.
First though, I have never fully explained the problem that I experienced with the fan club in July of 2004 and a rare, direct communication with Hunter then as well (both of which are interrelated). Although I have absolutely nothing to hide I am, reluctantly, going to make a few points. These will not go down well with some people but it is all meant to be a part of this biography to give people a better insight into what Hunter may be like in reality. That is in part three of the 2004 section.
