Hunter Tylo Bio: Chapter One: Another Lifetime (1962 - 1987)
Deborah Jo Hunter was born in Fort Worth Texas on July 3rd, 1962. She grew up in Springtown (in Texas) where she developed an interest in reptiles, which she had for pets. She also became an accomplished equestrian bareback rider, and still rides today when possible.
Her high school years were spent at Springtown High and she graduated in 1980, the year she had her first son Christopher. She married and became known as Deborah Morehart. As a teenage mother, life was not easy financially and so she set her sights on modeling and acting to make a living (and we thank God she did). This was one of the first major signs that she had some ambition in life. So, she entered beauty contests such as 'Miss Springtown' and 'Miss Teenage Fort Worth'. She also began to embark on a career in the theater, where she went on to play such roles as the part of 'Sophie', in 'Star Spangled Girl', for example.
The marriage ended after a few years (in 1983) unfortunately, but at age 20 the acting work had started to take off. Being a single mother required some form of income so she soon learned to balance motherhood and work. This balancing act has continued through to today and she subsequently has become an inspiration to single and married working mothers the world over.

Hunter Tylo - Springtown High in 1980
In the early 1980s she appeared in a few movies. The most notable movie that she appeared in was a 1984 movie called The Initiation, where she starred with Daphne Zuniga. Deborah played the part of 'Alison' in this movie and tries to forget this particular role for a reason that will not be discussed here.
By the middle of the 1980s, and now living in New York, the acting work had really taken off. The last half of the decade saw her start the daytime soap years, where Deborah soon found her niche. From 1985 to 1987, these were the All My Children (AMC) years and Deborah played 'Robin McCall'.

Hunter Tylo - The AMC years
Michael Tylo, who was playing the part of 'Matt Connolly' at the time, was introduced to her for a potential story line. They didn't exactly hit it off upon first meeting each other. Michael was apparently quoted as saying she was an "exceptionally good-looking bitch" (and perhaps with such beauty who could blame her for having a slight ego), and the chemistry was negative at first. Indeed Deborah thought that Michael, who was going through a rough time with a previous relationship, had a bad attitude and was offensive (she did not know about his marriage problems).

They gradually became friends over the next six months and then he asked her out, so the story goes. It turned out that a bet on a football game was in place with a co-star and who ever won paid for dinner. That night the two talked until 4:30am and then dated regularly from then on. 'Il Vagabondo', in New York, was the restaurant they went to for their first date (and during their subsequent marriage they went back there whenever they visited the city). Deborah was promptly fired, when their romance was finally discovered by the show's head honchos. On July 7, 1987 though, they were married in a ceremony that saw all the AMC cast in attendance, including Lauren Holly, who caught the bouquet. It was soon rumored that Deborah decided to change her name because Michael's previous wife was also called Deborah. There was also a 'Deborah Tylo' in the actor's union. Taking her maiden surname, which was also her high school tomboy nickname, and combining it with her new surname, she became Hunter Tylo.
